The GWL - Day 13Bologna: the capital of the home made pasta.

Tortellini, tortelli, tortelloni, ravioli, agnolotti are only a few of the names identifying the different varieties of "pasta fatta in casa", a great specialty of this region. Out from Romagna I am now into Emilia with the region capital of Bologna dominating the picture from several aspects. The medieval city center is closed to the traffic and it is an interesting walk into the past. The city presents a very unique aspect: long long "logge" and "porticati" (covered sidewalks with lots of arches and columns) like these ones in the pictures, are found in very few other cities in Italy.

I am enjoying this sunny Sunday surrounded by old stones and buildings and by the voices of the locals who speak one of the best dialects of Italy. "Bolognese" dialect and tonality is a joy to hear and makes me smile. Yes, I am walking... and smiling...
